DESIHOP

Kuthu * Desi Afro *
DesiHop began in early 2023 in Frankfurt, born from a simple idea shared by three Indian dancers Gokul Gopi, Saumya Singh, and Rayeez Mohammed: to create a space where movement could feel like home. What started as shared practice sessions soon grew into a collective voice, blending Bollywood, hip-hop, Afro, and the raw energy of Tamil kuthu into a powerful fusion that speaks across cultures.
Built as a safe and inclusive platform for South-Asian dancers, DesiHop has steadily grown through consistency and community. Over the past 18 months, the collective has hosted more than 15 workshops across Germany, showing up month after month, city after city. Alongside this journey, DesiHop continues to nurture its roots through regular weekly Bollywood-fusion classes at Tanzschule Weiss in Offenbach. Today, DesiHop is not just a dance style—it’s a growing movement shaped by people, persistence, and the belief that dance can connect worlds.

Dariya is more than a band. It is a moving river of stories, sound, and spirit.
Led by Shivam on vocals and guitar, with Ramit on drums and multi-percussion, and Abhijit on bass, Dariya weaves folk-inspired melodies with raw emotion and deep-rooted honesty.
Shivam’s songwriting draws from the eastern landscapes of India, carrying echoes of satire, mythology, and timeless symbols like Natraja and Ardhanarishwar. Their music reflects life in its truest form, its contradictions, its beauty, its struggles, and its quiet victories, often blending original compositions with soulful Bollywood interpretations. For over 2.5 years, Dariya has been performing actively across the globe, creating spaces where music becomes movement and movement becomes freedom.
Their core belief is simple yet powerful: music is liberation, for themselves and for every listener who finds a piece of their own story in Dariya’s sound.
